Have you noticed all the blogging going down? Make REBEL8.com your daily (again). Here is a right-side up cross for the few that aren't feeling our heavy usage of upside-down crosses in our Fall '10 season.
This kid is either home-schooled or someone stole these stickers. Like being sick at middle school is hard or something. Retard.
Grey and pink always pop.
Fulton Street.
Assuming this was done by the border control.
Funny when you take a photo of people giving daps it looks like they're holding hands.
One of the Harry Potter movies was filmed in this beard.
Ferdinand.
And me. Shoulda got some damn transition glasses. Ran out of contacts and my eyes have been mad squinty.
There was a dance contest going on at 111 Minna gallery. Sock hop and bee bop. Ranch Watusied her ass into the competition after we found a number on the sweaty dance floor. Hoo ridin'. The judges kept asking her to get off the dance floor, but no way. She was killin' it with her isolations.
It's finally summer in the Bay. Park life por vida.
I started my Friday night at Fecal Face's 10-year anniversary. Huge congrats to them! I was at their first arty-party so many years ago on a rainy night in Oakland, CA. Not many were there but over time, FF erupted into a world-renowned website and movement. Glad to be down since the jump.
I met these lovely ladies. Thanks for the support girls!
I stared at this one for awhile.
The FF after party was at Mezzanine. My last Mezzanine experience wasn't the greatest. It was a few years back when Travis and DJAM (RIP) performed. All I remember, it was four of us (me, Travis Barker, Skinhead Rob, Paul Wall) chillin' backstage and I ended up jumping through a back-door to the alley out back and blacking out. Dusted and disgusted. On Friday night this little dude was in line ahead of me.
This is Jay Howell.
After the after party I went to 111 Minna. Saw some old school R8. I think this is from '06.
Giant also had some art hanging at 111. The chick on the far right was what he drew huge at the REBEL8 x Pabst event.
From 1983 until about 1996 I rode a skateboard every single day. Since then I've only skated here and there. A few years ago I fell really hard and couldn't move my arms for weeks. After that I told myself I wouldn't skate anymore, but now that I live on one of San Francisco's sweetest hills to skate down I just can't resist. So I dug around and picked up some re-issued classic skateboards that were around when I started skating. These boards really take me back to my teens and the good old days of skating concrete ditches in Albuquerque.
Putting the grip tape on these decks was so much fun!
I'm gonna use these decks for a photo shoot later this month. In the meantime I'll continue to get around on my REBEL8 deck and my trusty Zip Zinger. But after the photo shoot, I'm gonna skate the shit out these old school set-ups. Keep it rollin'...
This guy is in my living room. I'm not a hunter. I bought this wart hog from a seller on Craigslist who was clearing out her grandfather's storage. I could stare at this all day.
I decided to take a walk to unwind. It's funny, I live in SF but spend the majority of time in a warehouse staring at the City out my window. All I do is work.
I love what they did with Valencia Street. It only gets better.
I gotta go get some lunch now.
Have a wonderful weekend and I'll blog again Monday. My daily ritual is back and quite therapeutic. Thanks for visiting!
It's been a minute since I blogged. I've been swamped at R8HQ getting your orders out. Gladly working 12-hour-minimum days to try and make R8 the best it can be. Thank you for your support and patience.
It was Mike's birthday last week and a few close friends took him to Millennium restaurant in San Francisco. If you are a vegan/vegetarian, you will lose your shit. It's truly a must place to eat at.
The toast.
And the finale.
The online store is selling out of things fast. Get it before you regret it! See you tomorrow and of course catch me on my Twitter.
Damn! Sorry for the lack of updates! Shit has been nuts over here at R8!
When I started this blog I wanted to make my section a little more focused on music. Before I started working at REBEL8 I played guitar in a hardcore band called Terror for many years. Terror recently just finished recording a new record and I gotta say it came out fucking amazing! Hearing this record really made me miss the old days of traveling the world playing venues packed full of kids stage diving and screaming their hearts out. Check out their new record "Keepers Of The Faith" coming out September 14th on Century Media Records.
To all the members of Terror past and present this blog is for you! I miss you dudes!
Venice: Take 2. R8 photo shoot. Every time I go down there the more fun I have. Thanks Cavan, Dylan AKA Hot Fire AKA Hot Lava, Talisa, Rob, Martin, Coco and Ana. Can't wait to see what happens next time. Don't make it weird.
Napoleon Dynamite and hella snacks = only way to travel. "Your mom goes to college."
Got to Cavan's house and glad to report that the little turtle has a new home!
Time to get ready for the shoot. Background props me and R8 model/photo assistant Dylan.
The Boat. No one ever leaves unless you walk the plank.
I said it before and I'll say it again. This is our gorgeous R8 model Talisa. Check her out.
Perfectly round heads Rob and Joshy. Lookin' good.
Coco with the pups. Lil' Smokie is copping a major feel.
Mike came through AKA Shredicone AKA Dog Whisperer.
Beach love.
What is Mike up to you ask...
New shit. Get some! Cavan was really inspired by Rob's tattoo.
Lock, stock and three smoking barrels.
I'll cutcha.
Beach life/dance party.
Over-all Sunday. Life's a beach.
Ciao for now. If you want to catch me, follow me on Twitter.
I'm sure you have all heard by now that the R8 x Pabst party for the Keep a Breast foundation was a huge success. Raising money, pinball and drinking beers, thats what's up.
Thanks to everyone that came out to support and helped raise money ($10K!). Let's keep a breast, in fact, let's keep two!
Mike was doing his thing. P.S., today is Mr. Giant's birthday. Love you long time.
And people loved it. I see you!
Crackin'!
That deaf, dumb and blind kid sure plays a mean pinball.
He's a pinball wizard there has to be a twist.
A pinball wizard, got such a supple wrist!
The original gangsta, my pops. Yes he was wearing yellow. Mellow yellow.
All the ladies in the house say.....
Yesterday I found out that my Grandmother in Italy passed away. She would have been 92 this week. Ti amo Nonna Im pensando a voi.
