Hey hey Lady 8ers I know it's been a while since my last post, but things have been really weird. Mercury has been in retrograde and these are times of slowing down, miss-communications and renegade planet. But we are out of the madness and it's time to enjoy what the city has to offer.
Hit up the Fecal Face party. I really love Sylvia Ji's art, I mean like really. She is a super amazing artist. What I wouldn't give to own the Red Buffalo painting.
And if you are a baller on a budget like me, here are some additional art pieces for sale. Tough choices, Michael Jackson or a Liger?
Gotta go MJ all the way. Now that is art. Nice shading.
Or you can make your own art.
Hit up the Coastside this weekend to check out my girl Alicia's lū'au. This is the view from her backyard. Amazing right?
A few nights ago I stopped by Azalea in San Francisco to see my homies from Obey. Azalea is a real nice shop that I wish REBEL8 was in. They had an invite only in-store event for Obey with DJ Pubes making me deaf (in a great way).
I always get so excited to see Chris Broders, owner of Obey. He fucking rules. I really hope to work with them in 2011.
After the show I went outside to see Tommy Love and his new whip. Tommy sells a lot of Obey.
I've always loved vans and still do. This one is insanely fuel efficient and can probably go for 500,000 miles plus.
The van is Tommy's mobile show room. Functional and amazing.
Not too shabby.
I saw a few Shep originals.
And my smile lessened to frown when I realized these were not gifts for me. Just Joshin'. Love you guys!
Hope everyone is getting through the week. A few more days to weekend! All you LA SoCal folks follow me on Twitter now as I got a give-a-way just for you.
Most of you probably know by now I enjoy food and frequently Twitter dat. I never give away my spots, but today I'll name drop a few.
This is my favorite spot in the world for tacos. Out front of Best Buy you can catch me eating them straight off the Tonayense truck.
My go-to breakfasts across the globe is Eggs Benedict. I 've been having morning meetings at Pork Store on 16th these days and always end up with the Eggs B. At this particular spot I change out the Canadian bacon with regular crispy bacon. It's alright here.
I fucks with BMs on the weekends. This gem of a Bloody Mary was prepared by none other than ex-R8 employee Andrew Marks. He'll make you an insanely unique BM at Laszlo on Saturdays.
I love phở. At Jasmine Garden I enjoy the spicy beef version. If you go there for dinner you will not see this on the menu. Just order it and trust you're fucking with the best.
Last night Giant and I went out to our usual spot, Hillstone. This is where we have our meetings. I ordered the prime rib this time being my other half was eating at House of Prime Rib and I was hella jelly.
HOP has nothing on the deserts at Hillstone though. Mike got a mean Key Lime Pie while I settled with the moist brownie a la mode over a thin frozen layer of custard dripped with caramel.
Hope everyone enjoyed the longest Monday ever. Today is Tuesday! Let's do this!
Good Monday! Here is some more Giant to start your week off right.
I mentioned this on my Twitter the other day and it still stands. If you spend $300 in our online shop (not including shipping) I'll throw in a free, signed by Mike Giant, limited edition R8 skateboard deck. Quantities insanely limited, so don't miss out! Shot out to everybody that keeps us in business and rocks REBEL8 to the fullest!
I'm showing some collaborative pieces that I made with my friend Pakayla Biehn at a group show that opens tonight at The Medicine Agency, 1262 Mason @ Jackson. See you there!
This past Saturday night I stopped by Pretty Pretty Collective to congratulate this lovely lady below, Georgia. I think I found a new spot to have my long hippie hair trimmed up.
When first entering the revamped space I immediately noticed the great ceiling light work a la Allie.
Justin from England.
And until 3 we set it the fuck off. I was so wasted I actually thought Vittoria was playing a real guitar. She is a Guitar Hero beast and I thought she was just taking it to the next level.
Great times. Go make an appointment at Pretty Pretty Collective if you are Frisco bound. Have a great rest of your day!
