More styles from back in the day. This drawing is from '94. It's the first page in one of my old graffiti blackbooks. HIVES was my girlfriend at the time, my first love.
I'm hoping you can see that my black and white aesthetic was already locked in back then. I also had 5 years of graffiti writing under my belt at that point so that part of my style was already locked in too. I'm sure you can see my interest in tattoo style was already there too. And my dedication to the women in my life should be pretty obvious in this spread too.
I know it's easy to copy the look of my stuff, but you can never copy the life I've had or the people I've known.
Had a great time this past Saturday shooting our Summer '11 collection for the online shop. Can't wait to show you! And I'm just gonna drop it, no set time, no specific date. Keep watching and save that money. This is my favorite season and I hope it's yours as well.
I'm going on vacation in a few hours and will not be blogging for the rest of the week. I need a little break. See you Monday, baby?
I joined Joshy at the warehouse on Saturday to watch the photo shoot for our Summer collection which hits the streets very soon. Big up to Dylan and Grady for handling the photos and Allie and Brian for being this season's models.
And big up to NEKST. This rooftop piece across the street from the warehouse has been running for years. Nice spot choice, homie.
I was digging through some old photos the other day and found these t-shirts that I had printed in 2000. I gave them away to tattoo clients and friends. I only printed about 60 of each. I'm hoping you can see the connection between these old t-shirt graphics and the ones I'm doing today for REBEL8. As far as I'm concerned, the REBEL8 style is simply an extension of the personal style I've been developing, on t-shirts in particular, since 1992.
I didn't start doing this shit yesterday. Respect to those that recognize realness.
