Blackout!
My flight to San Diego yesterday went really smooth. Just a slight delay out of San Francisco. Once I got to SD airport it was super easy to catch a cab to my hotel. I got checked in to the hotel without any problems either. They put me in a great room with a cool view on the 12th floor. I got settled in and the power went out. Within a few minutes an announcement was made that the power was out all over southern California and parts of Arizona. Whoa!!!
Soon after, I got news that the premier of the "Working Class" documentary had to be postponed. Super bummer. So I decided to chill out in the hotel's pool while I waited for some friends to arrive. Since the hotel had no power, no water and no food, it didn't make much sense to stay there. I ended up staying with friends in a gorgeous house near the beach in La Jolla, just north of SD. And I must say, it was a great place to wait out a blackout. It was so quiet! And everybody was outing chopping it up with their neighbors. It was actually really cool. The power came back on around 1am this morning. No big deal after all.
Today I've just been hanging out in the sun with old friends like my man Persue (Per-sway) here.
After many joints and a great tour of some graffiti spots, I got dropped off at the airport about half an hour ago. Hope my flight back to SFO leaves on time! I miss home already. It's been a crazy trip.
