No Sleep Til Brooklyn!
Enjoyed some "PK" with a bagel and some peppermint tea this morning which got the day off to a splendid start.
First stop, the Morning Breath studio.
Morning Breath is Jason Noto (at the pool/shipping table) and Doug Cunningham. They are both old friends from SF.
They've had the same studio space in Dumbo for 10 years. They have tons of awesome shit on the walls.
They were getting ready to start silkscreening a new series of work for their show at Shooting Gallery in SF in December. Can't wait to see what they come up with.
Doug's doodles are all over the place. I think they're rad. He's one of my favorite illustrators. And a legendary graffiti writer too.
The swordfish was a thrift store find.
The view from their smoking lounge has always been a great one.
After working at their studio for a few hours I headed up to Greenpoint on the G train to work on a top-secret project for Vans. After a few hours work there was finished and I headed to an amazing dinner party in Bushwick. Big up to my homegirl Eden and her friends for inviting me.
It's super inspiring to mix it up with creative professionals over an amazing homemade meal, especially when they're old friends like Eden and Amarjit here. I had such a good time. Can you tell?
Now it's 1am. I'm home for the night, on the top floor of the Peter Luger building, listening to the Metalhedz podcast #16 and bloggin' it up for y'all. Keep it real out there, REBEL8ers. I love ya!
